Terms & Conditions of Participation

• Only runners that have duly, officially and in time registered for the event can participate in the «ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC» races.
• The “ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC” event takes place the day and time that has been announced as such, regardless of weather conditions. Only in cases of exceptional circumstances or other force majeur incident, SEGAS and the Organizing Committee of the event have the right to decide on the postponement of the start time or the cancellation of the event, depending on the current conditions. In such cases, the registration fee is not refunded to the registered runners.
• The personal data declared by the participant upon submission of entry form are true and correct. In case the entry form is submitted by a thrid party, it is granted that the participant consents to his/her personal data being given to SEGAS and to the Organizing Committee of the event by the third party.
• Registration to any of the “ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC” races is possible only through the online registration platform available in the official event’s website, or by any alternative way indicated by the Organizing Committee.
• SEGAS and the “ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC” Organizing Committee have the right to suspend, or close registrations without prior notice, by posting such a decision on the website of event or of SEGAS.
• A registration is considered valid on the condition that it has been successfully submitted and that the registration fee, as determined on the date of registration, is successfully paid, while the amount of the registration fee has been credited to the organizers’ accounts.
• Participants that settle the entry fee via card (credit/debit/prepaid) consent to their personal data being transmitted to the Bank, for reasons strictly related to the execution of the relevant transaction.
• Registrations to any of the “ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC” races, for which the full registration fee has not been paid within two (2) working days after the date that the entry form has been submitted, are cancelled with no prior notice.
• It is forbidden to submit more than one registration in the same race by the same participant. In case a participant has submitted more than one valid registration, either individually or through a team entry, he/she must promptly inform the Organizing Committee, otherwise only the registration submitted first remains active. The subsequent registration, if submitted individually, is cancelled according to the Cancellation Policy of the event without prior notice, while in case of team registration, the entry is released to the team for management, with relevant notice to the team leader.
• Changes on confirmed registrations (runners’ replacement, change of race etc.) are possible only upon relevant request to the Organizing Committee, according to the instructions stated at the “Registrations Management” section of the event’s website.
• Cancellations of confirmed registrations are only possible in accordance to the cancellation policy of the event, as indicated in the designated section of the official website of the event.
• Post confirmation of the registration, change regarding the selected t-shirt size of the runner may be feasible upon request and only with the approval of the Organizing Committee.
• By submitting the entry form, participants declare that they have read and accepted the following statement:

“I verify that on entering the Event (Marathon/10km Race/5km Race), I attest and certify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for competition in this event and my physical condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I declare that I have read the detailed terms of participation in the Event, which are included in the text Terms & Conditions of Participation. I declare that all information stated in the entry form is correct. I hereby myself waive and release any and all right and claim from damages I may have against organizers of the Event in the cities and towns in which any part of the Event is held, for any and all injuries suffered by me in said Event. I also give permission for the free use of my name and picture in any broadcast, telecast or other account of this Event. I confirm that in no case I give the bib number assigned to me by the Event to another person for any reason. In case of a minor, the participation is allowed only after personal information and contact details of the parent having the legal custody of minor are stated. Submitting the entry form the parent gives permission and relevant consent for the child ‘s participation in the Event and accept the content of the declaration above. I understand and agree that there is a health risk associated with group activities. I am choosing to register for this Event with full understanding of the risk, and in this framework, the Hellenic Athletics Federation and the Event Organizing Committee bear no responsibility in case of any potential damage of my health.”
